Karen J. Preusser, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist Dr. Preusser is a licensed psychologist. She received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Purdue University. She has been employed by Clarkson Counseling, P.C. since 1997. The populations she works with include children, adolescents, and adults. Both individual and family therapy is provided. Dr. Preusser has a background in education/special education and school counseling which enables her to work closely with teachers and counselors of the children/adolescents she treats. Her areas of interest include perfectionism, depression, anxiety, giftedness, social skills, childhood disorders, conducting learning disability/ADHD evaluations, and working with families. |

Jason F. Mathers, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist Dr. Mathers is a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Purdue University and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Truman State University. Dr. Mathers has over 13 years of experience working in the mental health field. He completed his one-year doctoral internship at the Missouri Health Sciences Psychology Consortium, where he worked within the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veteran’s Hospital in Columbia, MO, providing services to veterans and their spouses and gaining experiences in crisis management, outpatient mental health care, inpatient treatment, and substance abuse treatment. In the course of his career, he has worked with individuals ranging in age from 5 to 80 within various settings, including university counseling centers, outpatient mental health clinics, an adult substance abuse treatment facility, and an alternative school for boys. Currently, he provides individual and couples/marital therapy with an interpersonal/cognitive-behavioral approach, particularly emphasizing his clients' relationships along with their beliefs and perceptions of themselves, others, and the world in general. Dr. Mathers enjoys working primarily with older adolescents, adults, and couples struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, adjustment issues, relational concerns, and other emotional and psychological problems. | Ari L. Holtz, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist Dr. Holtz has been with Clarkson Counseling for over three years. Prior, he worked in independent private practice, community mental health and university clinics. While he works with a wide range of issues, Dr. Holtz specializes in depression, anxiety, eating disorders. trauma, adult victims of childhood abuse, relationship issues, phase-of-life issues, and adjustment to new life circumstances. His practice includes adolescents and adults seen in individual, couples, and family counseling. A licensed psychologist, Dr. Holtz received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He completed his doctoral internship at the Vanderbilt University–VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System in Nashville, TN. He was then a post-doctoral resident at the Vanderbilt University Psychological and Counseling Center. Dr. Holtz has also received clinical training at the American University’s Counseling and Psychological Service, the George Washington University Counseling Center, the Psychiatric Institute of Washington, and the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Holtz believes strongly in pragmatic work where the therapist meets the client wherever he or she may be in life. He values honesty, trust, respect, and challenging those he works with supportively and safely. He believes in short-term results as well as insight, increased awareness, and the achievement of long-term change. Overall, Dr. Holtz sees therapy as a collaborative process between client and therapist where goals are established and progress is made together. | Sharon F. Sevier, Ph.D., LPC Dr. Sevier is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri. A native of Central New York, she earned her Certificate of Advanced Studies in Counseling Services from the University of New York at Oswego and her Ph.D. from Syracuse University. Dr. Sevier has an extensive background in education; her work as a former school counselor enables her to work well with, and understand, school-related issues for children and adolescents. Dr. Sevier is a trained mediator. Her areas of interest include women's/girls', and family issues. Dr. Sevier enjoys working with children and adolescents, adults/couples, and families, having a special interest in blended families. |

Theresa Van
Iseghem, Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist Dr. Van Iseghem is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the treatment of children, adults, couples, and families. Dr. Van Iseghem completed her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at The School of Professional Psychology at Forest Institute in Springfield, Missouri in 2007 and utilizes a systemic, cognitive-behavioral, and interpersonal approach to treatment. In addition to her doctoral training, Dr. Van Iseghem also completed an AAMFT approved postgraduate program in Marriage and Family Therapy during which she accumulated over 500 hours working with couples, children, and families. Upon graduation, Dr. Van Iseghem completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship with Children’s Research Triangle where she specialized in the treatment of children and adolescents with a history of prenatal or environmental substance exposure. Dr. Van Iseghem has extensive training conducting psychological evaluations for a wide range of educational, developmental, and mental health concerns. As a clinician, Dr. Van Iseghem utilizes a variety of treatment approaches and strongly believes in the collaborative relationship between the client and therapist. |

Mel French, Psy.D., M.S.
Psychopharm Dr. Mel French is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Missouri and in Illinois. Dr. French is also a Board Certified Diplomate-Fellow in Clinical Psychopharmacology, a Board Certified Diplomate in Medical Psychology, a Fellow of the American College of Advanced Practice Psychologists, a Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners, and a Certified-Advanced Addictions Counselor. Nicole R. Kruger, Psy.D.,
Licensed Clinical Psychologist Dr. Kruger graduated from the University of Denver with a doctorate in clinical psychology. She completed an internship at Children’s Hospital of Minneapolis where she worked with children presenting with autism spectrum disorders, cognitive and attentional issues, and medical conditions. Since then she has worked for the past 13 years in culturally diverse private and community based mental health settings, assessing and treating children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Kruger has developed expertise in working with young children and their families dealing with developmental problems. Other areas of experience include adjustment issues, family change, post-partum health, relationship problems, and mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Kruger uses a variety of approaches with clients including play therapy, behavior modification, cognitive-behavioral, insight oriented, interpersonal, and mindfulness and meditation. |
